Sydney Observatory evening sessions

Sydney Observatory night tours include a telescope viewing and an experience in the Planetarium or 3D Theatre. Telescope viewing is dependent on weather. It is not possible to see the night sky through cloud, however, in this event tours still proceed with a cosy planetarium tour. Please read the conditions below carefully.

  1. Evening talks, tours and events must be pre-booked and pre-paid. If there are spaces available on the night then they may be offered at the same price as the pre-booked tickets to patrons who walk-in on the night.
  2. No refunds are offered on pre-paid tickets.
  3. Sessions are held regardless of the weather. If viewing through the telescopes is not possible due to sky conditions, a fun planetarium session is provided instead.
  4. A rain-check is available to patrons who contact the Observatory prior to 12 noon on the day of their tour. This allows the patron to rebook for another night, dependent on availability. Rain-checks last for up to 3 months or three booking attempts. They will not be available for catered and some special events.
  5. In the case of rain checks or date changes, no compensation will be made for variation in date changes from weekend tours to weeknight bookings.
