Curator Tour for Members: Toy Trains

Sunday 2 August 2015, 1pm Powerhouse Museum Book Tickets

Join us for a MAAS Member tour of Recollect: Toy Trains, led by curator Paul Donnelly, who will share fascinating insights behind the wonderful miniature world of more than 200 toy trains and objects from our extensive collection.

See locomotives, carriages, buildings and accessories created in tin plate dating from the 1890s, with the majority from the 1920s–1950s. See toy trains from popular British manufacturer Hornby, German makers Bing and Märklin, as well as an Australian Ferris ‘Red Rattler’ suburban train from the 1950s, alongside a working Gauge ‘0’ (1:45 ratio) train set by the company ACE.

The tour lasts 40 minutes with questions encouraged.
