Sydney Observatory Family Twilight Tours

On now until 1 April 2017, 6.15–7.45pm

Discover the wonders of the night sky with your family and enjoy immersive astronomy experiences alongside expert Observatory guides. In this 90 minute tour, you and your kids will have fun with rockets and see some of the wonderful objects in the twilight sky through our telescopes.

Twilight Tours start at 6:15pm and last 1.5 hours. The tour includes the Planetarium, telescope viewing* and rocket launching*. The tour starts from inside the Observatory building and doors open 15 minutes prior to the night visit. Night visits need to be booked and pre-paid. Bookings, including group bookings, can be made up to three months in advance online or by calling Sydney Observatory (02) 9217 0111.

NB: 8.15pm tours can be booked here.

* Tours are held regardless of the weather. If viewing through the telescopes is not possible due to sky conditions, the tour still proceeds with a tour of the night sky in our planetarium and other fun family activities. Tickets are non-refundable but may be exchanged or rain checked for patrons who contact the Observatory prior to 12 noon on the day of their tour.

Terms and conditions are available here.

Please be advised that from February 2017, Sydney Observatory’s paths and gardens will be undergoing some renovations to improve access to Sydney’s oldest observatory. During these works the Observatory will remain open day and night and Family Twilight Tours will continue to operate as normal. There may be a small impact on our other programs, events and tours but we aim to complete this project as quickly as possible and thank you for your understanding. Please contact us on sydneyobservatory@maas.museum or (02) 9217 0111 if you would like more information.
