Dr Ángel R. López-Sánchez is a Spanish-Australian astronomer and science communicator at the Australian Astronomical Optics (AAO) at Macquarie University where he researchers galaxy evolution. Before taking the role at Macquarie Ángel worked at the CSIRO where he researched radio-interferometric observations of galaxies. He has published 147 research papers and has over 8700 citations. Ángel regularly shares his passion for the cosmos on his podcast The Skyentists, SBS radio and at astronomy events throughout Sydney. Ángel is a 2021 Sydney Observatory Resident where he will be creating a portfolio of new astrophotography images viewed from Sydney Observatory.
