Calling all Sherlock fanatics, super sleuths and anyone with a keen interest in science and history.
The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences and University of Technology Sydney have teamed up to bring you the ultimate forensic experience– an exclusive tour of the UTS Science Crime Scene Simulation Lab followed by a viewing of The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes.
Get a behind the scenes look into the world of forensics in this tour of the state-of-the-art UTS Crime Scene Simulation Lab. You will enter a lab set up like a city apartment that is used to simulate different scenarios, giving practical experience in crime scene investigation, before hearing from UTS forensics experts themselves.
Then at the Powerhouse Museum, be transported back to Sherlock Holmes’ Victorian London and crack the case by conducting your own experiments in The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes. How will you fare when you try to solve a captivating, original mystery in the tradition of the master detective?
Session Times: 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm
Duration: 100 minutes
This event includes:
- Guided forensics lab tour: 30 minutes (University of Technology Sydney)
- Travel by foot with a guide from the Powerhouse Museum to UTS: 10 minutes (~500 meter walk)
- Self-guided viewing of The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes: 60 minutes (Powerhouse Museum). Viewings can be done another day between 14 August–8 October 2017.
