This is a one-day workshop running at Sydney Observatory.

Program a rover! Learn about what space rovers are and what they do before equipping a Mars rover with appropriate sensors. Discover the basics of control systems and robotics using LEGO EV3 robots to get your motors in gear and avoid obstacles in order to complete your space mission. In this workshop you will code with the new Scratch 3.0 and use it to program an EV3 robot.

What is Scratch?

Scratch is a visual coding language developed by MIT. It can be used to tell stories, make animations and develop games. It is fun and easy to use on iPad and computer.

We don’t have experience with Scratch, can we still join in?

Yes, our educators will start with the very basic building blocks of the Scratch programming language.
