Join us to kick-off of the Sydney Science Festival and explore the Powerhouse Museum after hours for FREE as you see the Museum in a whole new light at MAASive Lates: Science.

Meet experts, get creative with a range of hands-on activities, tour exhibitions and chat with scientists and curators in this huge night of science. Find the full timetable and map here.

  • Be first to see the new exhibition Human non Human, take a curator tour and contemplate our evolving relationship to work, sex, belief and food
  • From astrophysicists to forensic psychologists, microbiologists to roboticists, chat to experts taking part in all kinds of research at Speed Meet a Scientist
  • Take part in a tasting of edible gelatinous anatomy with Human Non Human artist Lindsay Kelley
  • Dissect and illustrate botanical specimens with Human Non Human artist Maria Fernanda Cardoso
  • Join exclusive curator tours to gain expert insights into our exhibitions Human Non Human, Common Good and Interface.
  • Stargaze on the forecourt with Sydney Observatory astronomers and telescopes
  • Meet some of Australia’s favourite animals with Taronga ZooMobile
  • Get hands-on and create your own electrical circuits with playdough
  • Take a closer look at the food we eat under the microscope
  • Become the scientist in Experimentations
