These school holidays the Powerhouse is partnering with FBi Radio to present a podcasting workshop for children ages 10–14.
FBi Radio is an independent youth broadcaster shaping and amplifying independent music and culture in Sydney. The station produces over 20 weekly podcasts covering topics from movies and art to rugby and fiction.
Workshop participants will receive an introduction to the art of podcasting from one of the station’s resident producer-presenters. The group will learn about different types of podcasts before being encouraged to brainstorm their own ideas and shown how to create a storyboard.
After lunch, participants will be able to get acquainted with the equipment and try recording for themselves. Next, will be an introduction to editing audio content before taking a listen to what everyone has been working on.
Finally, the group will discuss how they can continue their podcasting journey at home.
FBi Radio is currently part of the Powerhouse Museum’s NSW Creative Industries Residency Program, bringing their innovative programming out of the studio and into the museum, filling the space with music, projections and performance.
This workshop is suitable for ages 10–14 years. All materials are provided. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch.
The event is free, but bookings are essential. Please note: due to COVID-19 restrictions parents may not attend.
