SHAPE 2018 Virtual Incursion: Jochen Heinzmann

Duration: 45 minutes
TalkWorkshop
Thursday 7 March 2019, 1-2pm Video Conference Book Tickets

Join us through the magic of video conferencing for a special conversation with woodworker and furniture designer Jochen Heinzmann in this Sydney Design Festival exclusive!

Jochen left a career in engineering in 2012 to pursue his passion for furniture making. Coming from a lineage of joiners, Jochen has been making furniture since his childhood. His aim is to fuse traditional woodwork craftsmanship and modern design and techniques to create unique items which complement today’s living spaces. Exploring new furniture manufacturing techniques leveraging digital manufacturing methods on a small scale is of particular interest. Jochen’s design practice is informed by Dieter Ram’s mantra of ‘less but better’.

Jochen Heinzmann will be coming live to us from his woodworking studio, sharing his work, ideas and process in conversation with an HSC marker, one of our MAAS Curators and YOU.

Young designers and their teachers are invited to submit questions for Jochen Heinzmann. Please email learn@maas.museum with your question, name and school.

The SHAPE 2018 Virtual Incursion program is open to all NSW Stage 6 classes. Bookings are essential.

Note: MAAS schedules a test connection prior to every VC event to resolve any technical factors which may impact on the call quality.
