Studio Session: Patterning and Print Design

Join Owais Haji in a textiles surface design workshop that explores patterning and print. Working with different source materials and drawing directly from the Akira Isogawa exhibition, this workshop will explore how to translate a variety of visual references into patterning outcomes.

Experiment with a range of collage and drawing techniques that can be applied to create texture, layers and form. Discover new and expressive ways to explore visual motifs and explore how to translate these concepts into repeat patterns.

Who should attend?

All welcome but most suitable for beginners and intermediate textile practitioners wanting to explore new techniques.

What you’ll get

All source materials to work with during the workshop to create your own collage and pattern. You will take your work with you to complete at home.

What to bring

Everything is provided but you are welcome to fabrics of textures to experiment with.

Owais Haji is a multi-disciplinary creative with a fashion design practice that is informed by his personal experience, knowledge and cultural background.
