Look through our safe solar telescope with one of our knowledgeable astronomers before exploring the Universe in our Planetarium or Space Theatre. On a clear day, you can see the Sun, bright stars and maybe the Moon or Venus!
Day tours run for 30 minutes and include a planetarium or theatre show as well as a viewing through one of our telescopes.
Please note that during school terms, Monday–Friday day tours may only be available from 2.15 pm onwards as school groups have priority bookings for morning tours.
Bookings can be made in advance online for 2.15pm, 3.15pm and 4.15pm tours daily. Bookings are not essential for all remaining time slots – just arrive 5 minutes before the session starts.

Please be advised that from February 2017, Sydney Observatory’s paths and gardens will be undergoing some renovations to improve access to Sydney’s oldest observatory. During these works the Observatory will remain open day and night and our Day Tours will operate as normal. There may be a small impact on our other programs, events and tours but we aim to complete this project as quickly as possible and thank you for your understanding. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or (02) 9217 0111 if you would like more information.
