Calling all teachers! Join author Vanessa Berry for this one day memoir-writing workshop, investigating the potential of using objects in memoir and creative non-fiction.
Objects connect us with stories of people, places and times, in our personal and cultural histories. This workshop will examine creative ways of considering and writing about objects, based on personal objects and objects in the MAAS collection. It is suitable for writers of all levels of experience, who have an interest in writing memoir and life stories.
Please bring a notebook and pen and/or laptop/device for writing, a light lunch will be provided.
The workshop requires participants come with a personal object in mind to write about. Please bring images of this object with you to the workshop (or the object itself if it is something you are comfortable bringing in, although please be cautious with bringing in fragile/precious items).
Each teacher participating must have a valid NESA accreditation number to obtain entry to this workshop. This workshop has been made possible by a grant from the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund.
