Sir

You are requested to take the first opportunity of completing the establishment of the Meteorological Observatory at Cape Moreton.
For this purpose you will require to enclose a spare twelve or fourteen feet square, with a paling fence, sufficiently close to keep out goats or other animals and having a small gate which you would do well to keep locked; you will also employ such assistance as you may require in erecting the vane, and fixing (if necessary) the Thermometer Stand. The expense to be charged to the Observatory department of NS.Wales.

I am Sir
Your obedient Servant
W Scott
