May 6, 2013

Proxima Centauri_Nick LombThe nearest star to our Sun is Proxima Centauri. Light from Proxima takes four and a quarter years to reach Earth. As light travels at the incredible speed of 300 000 km per second, the distance to Proxima is 40 million million km. A long way to travel!
