Learn to Code: Storytelling with Scratch Jr

Introduce your learners to the endless possibilities of computer coding. Your class will use Scratch Jr to create animated stories, while developing an understanding of visual programming language along the way. Our educators will introduce learners to the key elements of visual coding including character sprites, backgrounds, command blocks and flow structures. Learners will then combine these elements to create code to control the movement of a main character sprite. Once they’ve mastered that, learners can experiment and tinker to make their main characters even livelier using personalised sound recordings and coding additional character sprites for their ‘heroes’ to interact with.
