Baxter Robot in action

Robots: Robots and Machines

Learn the difference between robots and machines in this multi-activity day. Starting with a presentation focussed on the features of robots and machines and how they are different, the workshop will then see your class split into three as they rotate between a series of activities, each aimed at understanding what constitutes a robot and what constitutes a machine. Learners will categorise a range of well-known objects as either robots or machines; there is an interactive session with MAAS robots: Baxter, Paro and our Mars Rovers; and there is also a session where learners discover how to program a robotic platform.
