Stage 2 Design

Duration: 90 minutes

Investigate design concepts and the significance of line and lineage within Indigenous cultural narratives and practices explored in the Linear exhibition.

Encompassed by the voices of leading Indigenous artists, designers and makers from across Australia, learners will engage with Indigenous histories and cultures through the focus of design.

Following a mediated experience within the Linear exhibition, learners will investigate how artists use materials for storytelling and connecting back to country and community. Learners will apply their skills in a design challenge that asks them to create an object that connects them back to their own community.

Until December 2020, program activities include educator-led active exploration of the Linear exhibition.

From January 1 2021 through to June 30 2021, program activities include educator-led active exploration of curated artefacts from the Linear exhibition.
